Corrupted is a series born from the unexpected crash of one of my hard drives in 2019. I sent it to a professional recovery service, and while most of the files were restored, some JPEGs were corrupted. These happened to be images I had taken between 2010 and 2013—during the transition from the end of high school to the beginning of college. The corrupted files transformed into what I can only describe as accidental collages: pixelated fragments that the recovery software seemed to reconstruct based on color, subject matter, and lighting. The result was an amalgamation of mismatched landscapes, portraits, and personal photographic experiments from my teenage years. These distorted images serve as a metaphor for that period in my life—marked by uncertainty, transition, and turbulence.
